On Monday 8th March Batt O’Keeffe TD, Minister for Education & Science officiated at the sod turning ceremony for the new Ballincollig Garda Station.
This €4m development will be completed in 8 months and be constructed in 2 phases.
Phase 1 involves the demolition of the existing derelict army building, construction of 3 storey 1700m2 purpose built Garda Station with construction of auxiliary buildings, secure parking and pedestrian access. An Garda Sίochána will then move into their new purpose built facility.
Phase 2 of the project involves the demolition of the existing Garda Station and construction of additional car parking and landscaping.
Theo Cullinane, MD BAM said “We are delighted that BAM will construct this long awaited facility for the local community”.
